Wayside Chapel’s Senior Adults are a very active group.

Those people fifty-five and older are part of the Primetimers group and take part in a number of activities that bring them together.  They have been on a number of trips to museums such as the Reagan Library and the Nethercutt Collection.  Last spring they attended a performance of “The Pageant of Our Lord” and are already making plans for a return visit.  This pageant is a live reenactment of great paintings and other artwork which help to tell the story of Christ and his resurrection and is very inspiring.  The Primetimers also get together for potlucks and board game events several times a year, like the Game Day coming in July where the emphasis is on fun and getting to know each other.

The annual Primetimers Thanksgiving Dinner in the early part of November is a great way to get in the spirit of thankfulness.  One of the things that is most appreciated about this event is that the Youth of Wayside do all the serving, and the seniors love seeing them at their very best.  And in December we are looking forward to a Christmas Open House at the Hoier Home, where you really get in the mood for Christmas.

We also have a Sunday School class for those fifty-five and older which meets at 9:00 AM every Sunday morning and is taught by Byron Glennan who makes the learning interesting and practical.  Those of ‘primetime’ age are encouraged to participate in small groups where Bible learning, accountability, sharing of prayer concerns and praises, etc. takes place.  Check our “Small Groups” tab to find a Bible Study that will meet your needs.

And if you are a Primetimer who likes to sing . . . well the Omega Choir is the place for you.  They tell us their main purpose is to have fun but they also minister to the congregation as they sing special songs - a lot of the old favorites.  They also have concerts periodically which are great!  Practices are Monday mornings at 11:00 AM from September through May.
