Experience
When you pull into the parking lot of Wayside Chapel you will find parking spots reserved for first time guests. You may also see a golf cart zipping around the parking lot offering rides to the front door. Once you enter the doors to the church you pause to shake hands with the smiling person who welcomes you. If you need to know directions to Sunday School classes, the Sanctuary, or restrooms, the person shaking your hand will take you to your destination. You find a seat in the sanctuary as the music begins to play. You may recognize the song you hear as the worship service begins. There is a happy, homey chaos as people begin to take their seats, reminding you of happy times at home when the whole family gathers for holidays and birthdays. Before you know it you are on your feet singing along with the oldies and trying to learn those new songs. The music has a nice blended feeling with just the right mix of traditional and contemporary songs. You are moved by the song sung by the ensemble as you let the words of their song sink into your heart.
As soon as Pastor Leroy begins to speak you feel he's talking directly to you. Did he read your mind and those thoughts that are running around in your head? His teaching is straight from God's Word and couldn't be more relevant. You start thinking about how these principles can be used in all those situations you face each and every day, all those times you have no idea what to do. As that last song begins to play, all those thoughts of work issues, relationships, finances, and chores begin to fade away. You feel a peace for the first time all week. There's no better place to be on Sunday than in church with.your family! |
